It will take a lot more birdies if Spieth is to end his lengthy win drought this week. But a hot start for the fan favorite will help when the second round begins on Friday.

Spieth will start his second round on the front nine Friday, teeing off at 2:44 p.m. ET alongside Nick Taylor and Hideki Matsuyama.
