Lady Gaga stepped into the spotlight at the FireAid benefit concert in Los Angeles, where she delivered a powerful performance that included the debut of a brand new song, “Time Is a Healer,” written specially for the occasion.
The event was split across two venues, with Gaga closing out the evening from the Intuit Dome. After being introduced by Jimmy Kimmel, she took the stage for renditions of “Shallow” and “Always Remember Us This Way” from the soundtrack to A Star Is Born.
Then, Gaga explained to the audience that she wanted to perform “something hopeful,” but felt that nothing in her catalog felt quite right. Thus, she and her fiancé Michael Polansky composed the new song, “Time Is a Healer” — a mid-tempo tune with a hopeful message, building up to an anthemic chorus with the lyrics, “All I need is time to heal my broken wings/ And then I’ll soar.”

Announced in the wake of the devastating fires in the LA area, FireAid was designed as an evening of music and solidarity, with performances taking place at both the Intuit Dome and the Kia Forum in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Inglewood.
All proceeds from the concerts are set to be directed to short-term relief efforts and long-term initiatives to prevent future fire disasters. Other performers for the evening included Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Joni Mitchell, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Stevie Nicks, John Mayer, Earth, Wind, & Fire, Lil Baby, Gracie Abrams, and Katy Perry, among others.
In addition to supporting FireAid, those looking to contribute to relief efforts can explore this list of organizations on the ground and ongoing fundraisers. Additionally, we’ve launched a special “All for LA” edition of our Protect Live Music shirt — take one home here.
Meanwhile, Gaga recently announced a new album, Mayhem, out March 7th.
