The men’s WWE Royal Rumble 2025 boasted one of the most stacked and unpredictable fields in recent memory. WWE teased several paths for many top stars to main event WrestleMania. As a result, a field filled with current and future Hall of Famers—in addition to many former Rumble winners—went to war in the most anticipated Royal Rumble in years.
CM Punk, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, Sami Zayn, Jey Uso and sentimental favorite John Cena headlined a Royal Rumble that did not fail to disappoint.

Everything That Happened In The Men’s 2025 Royal Rumble Match
Fans came unglued for the first two Royal Rumble entrants: Rey Mysterio and Penta. Even Rey ad a smile on his face as fans rose to their feet and chanted “this is awesome!” Rey and Penta exchanged a handshake prior to doing battle. Mysterio answered a “Cero Miedo” taunt with a “619” taunt and we were off to the races.
During a struggle over the top rope, both Penta’s feet almost touched the floor. Suspiciously, WWE did not show a replay.
Rey leapt off Penta’s shoulders and landed back-first, right on Gable’s knees.
Santos Escobar got massive heat for hitting a 619 on Rey Mysterio. Penta stood up for Rey Mysterio and received a Mexican Destroyer for his troubles. Turnabout became fair play as Escobar ate a 619 from Rey.
Fans exploded for Otis (No. 6). Ever the heel, Gable stopped the Worm with an ankle lock.
Early on, the men’s Royal Rumble followed the same beats a the women’s Rumble. Two top stars started the match and a people’s champion (Otis) entered in the Top 6.
Akira Tozawa walked out at No. 7 and was attacked by Carmelo Hayes. Tis opened the door for the first surprise entrant: IShowSpeed. Despite what any dirtsheet will write about this, Speed was massively over.
After Speed eliminated Otis, he was broken in half by a Bron Breakker Spear and tossed out of the Rumble.
There was a stadium-wide gasp of excitement as Jacob Fatu entered his first Rumble at No. 12. Fatu did not disappoint with a double Samoan drop on Mysterio and Penta. Fans later chanted “Fatu!”
Ludwig Kaiser took his time getting into the ring, and when he did, he was immediately eliminated by Penta.
TNA world champion Joe Hendry got the biggest pop to this point with his surprise entrance. The camera missed the famed Hendry money shot.
Roman Reigns pulled up at No. 16. He tossed one man out after another including TNA world champion Joe Hendry.
Reigns and Roman faced off and Breakker hit a Spear on Roman. Roman answered by eliminating Breakker. The long-term Breakker-Reigns feud over the best Spear in the business continues.
Fatu eliminated Uso, setting up a dramatic showdown between opposing Bloodline members Fatu and Reigns. Cole went out of his way to say “you are looking at a future WrestleMania main event.”
After hitting a Mexican Destroyer on Fatu, Penta was eliminated by Finn Balor.
Jey Uso made a more serious entrance to the Royal Rumble with much less yeeting.
John Cena hit the ring like a house afire, eliminating Braun Strowman before he even took his t-shirt off.

In yet another bout of great storytelling for WWE, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins’ bitter rivalry cost them both. They were both eliminated by Punk, who was then eliminated by Paul. Punk, Reigns and Rollins brawled on the outside, teasing a triple threat down the road.
The men’s Final 4 came down to John Cena, Logan Paul, Jey Uso and CM Punk.
Seth Rollins appeared to have turned heel after multiple Curb Stomps to Reigns. The Royal Rumble came and went with no resolution of Heyman’s favors to Punk. And the plot thickens.
In a Final 2 showdown between John Cena and Jey Uso, Jey “shockingly” eliminated Cena, making me look like a genius (see article above).
