Thursday night’s showdown between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers got plenty of attention for a number of reasons. For one, it’s another meeting between all-time greats and future Basketball Hall of Famers Steph Curry and LeBron James. Of course, Luka Doncic’s presence on the Lakers’ bench made it a bigger night, even though he did not see action.
The Lakers got the victory, thumping the visiting Dubs at Crypto.com Arena via a 120-112 score. After the game, Curry and Doncic were seen having a brief moment on the court, which did not go unnoticed by the fans.
“2 guys that don’t like Nico Harrison 😂😂😂,” joked a fan.
A big take from another commenter: “Luka gon past him all time after this year,”
“Love this,” a different X user posted.
“Two of the Realest in The NBA. Look at Bron watching hatin😭,” another social media commenter shared.
“Steph was probably giving him a pep talk lol,” chimed in a fan.

Thanks to a stellar night by James, the Lakers staved off the Warriors. The four-time NBA Most Valuable Player defied Father Time once again and scored 42 points on 14-for-25 shooting from the field while adding 17 rebounds and eight assists in 38 minutes of duty on the floor. Curry produced 37 points to lead all Warriors scorers but he needed 35 field goal attempts to reach that total.
The Warriors and the Lakers will see each other one more time in the 2024-25 NBA regular season, which will be on Apr. 3 at Crypto.com Arena. That could also be the first time the Warriors play against Doncic in a Lakers uniform.
Doncic, who was traded to the Lakers late last Saturday, is reportedly targeting Monday’s home game against the Utah Jazz for his debut with the Purple & Gold franchise, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.
