Bill Belichick is getting ready for his first year as the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels, making the jump from the NFL to college football after taking a year off. Belichick has been working hard on the recruiting trail, earning some big commitments for the 2025 class this past week.

But even he needs a break at times.

On Thursday, Belichick was in New Orleans for Super Bowl week and attended the annual NFL Honors show. During that show, Belichick and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson were the subject of a joke by host Snoop Dogg which took the internet by storm.

During Snoop Dogg’s opening monologue, he poked fun at the Dallas Cowboys at the expense of Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend.

“I’ve been a football fan for a long, long time,” Snoop began. “I mean, I remember back when the Cowboys was good. I remember back when the Chiefs was bad … Bill Belichick’s girlfriend wasn’t even born yet!”

The joke drew a big laugh from the crowd, including Belichick and Hudson as the camera panned on them.

It’s all in fun and it comes with the territory of being a legendary coach. Belichick being at the NFL Honors, making media rounds and more also gets attention on his brand as well as the Tar Heels’ brand, which is great news. As long as he can handle a few jokes, there’s really no harm.
