Much of lower Michigan is under a winter storm watch from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm could bring heavy snow to the state and make travel difficult.
Southeast Michigan is expected to receive between 5 and 7 inches of snow.
On the west side of the state, between 5 and 8 inches of snow is possible. In northern Michigan, accumulations between 4 and 8 inches are expected.
