NEW CONCORD, Ohio — Muskingum University issued a shelter-in-place order as the sheriff’s office investigates reports of a shooter at the university.
Few details are available, but the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office said it received a report of a possible shooter at the university around 6:45 p.m.
A university spokesperson said the university received a notification from a local dispatcher and immediately notified the campus to shelter in place for a possible active shooter.
The sheriff’s office said deputies are searching dorms and they have not found any victims or a shooter.
No other information was immediately available.
