Aliff Aziz’s alleged ex, Sarah Yasmine, seeks $250k in damages, sets 1-week deadline

KUALA LUMPUR – Singaporean influencer Sarah Yasmine, who had previously claimed to be Aliff Aziz’s girlfriend, is seeking $250,000 in compensation from the actor for filing an allegedly wrongful claim against her under the Protection from Harassment Act.

In a recent Instagram update, Sarah argued that the filing was unfounded as Aliff, 34, had pleaded guilty to the khalwat (close proximity) charge with Malaysian actress Ruhainies, 32, on Feb 21.

“This admission confirms that my previous statements regarding your relationship with the actress, which I’ve publicly shared, are true and not defamatory,” she said. “Despite this, you wrongfully filed a claim against me… This legal action is frivolous and baseless.”

Sarah also posted a letter of demand on her Instagram account, giving Aliff a seven-day deadline to pay the requested amount or face further legal action.

The 25-year-old added that she will not remain silent as she had already waited a year for Aliff’s verdict. “This is only the beginning. To those who have made defamatory statements about me, whether big or small, know that I’ll be coming for you too this year.

“You know who you are. As I’ve already said before, justice will always prevail,” she said.

According to mStar, The Star’s Malay-language news portal, Sarah received a notice from a Singapore court in 2024 which prohibited her from making any statements regarding Aliff. But the issue was resolved swiftly through a mediation process in court.

On March 9, 2024, the local entertainment scene was rocked by the news of Aliff and Ruhainies’ arrest on khalwat charges at a condominium in Kuala Lumpur.

At the time, Aliff was married to Malaysian actress Bella Astillah, with whom he shares two children.

The pair, who married in 2016, had previously divorced in 2019 but reconciled shortly after. They divorced for the second time on June 13, 2024. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
