The United States Men’s National Team take the field for the first time in 2025 this afternoon when they take on Venezuela in a January Camp friendly. The USMNT, with a squad almost entirely comprised of MLS-based players, look to begin the year with a win and establish momentum for the year.
Mauricio Pochettino is in his first January Camp as head coach, and he finally has a chance to implement a lot of his methodology with players looking to show they can be dependable as the year progresses with an eye on next summer’s World Cup. They take on a Venezuela team that can play physical and will try to make it had on the United States with firm play and the ability to dabble in creativity while also playing in the trenches.
The USMNT lineup could feature some veterans along with players that are looking to make a name for themselves. That hopefully means spirited play as they seek to impress Pochettino and aim for the win in Fort Lauderdale.
