ForbesToday’s NYT Mini Crossword Clues And Answers For Saturday, January 18thBy Erik KainIt’s not quite Sunday yet, but the Sunday crossword and Mini Crossword are available to solve already. The NYT Mini is a smaller, quicker, more digestible, bite-sized version of the larger and more challenging NYT Crossword, and unlike its larger sibling, it’s free-to-play without a subscription to The New York Times. You can play it on the web or the app, though you’ll need the app to tackle the archive.

I solved this one pretty fast thanks to getting some of these quickly early on. I didn’t actually know that Dick Van Dyke starred in a Coldplay music video, but I knew he’s an old guy and the last two parts of his name fit 1 and 9 ACROSS. From here, 1-Down was pretty obvious and getting those letters helped me with TOWER. I’d mostly filled in the rest of the downs by the time I got there, plugging in NEWSY and finally AVERT, all in just 57 seconds.
