STORM WATCH: Snow and rain followed by brutal cold in New Jersey

New Jersey will see snowfall and a mix by midday or the early afternoon.

Sunday will feature low pressure developing along the Virginia coast. This storm will move up and off our coast during the day and evening. Snow and a mix to the South will develop around midday or early afternoon. The snow will become moderate to heavy at times during the afternoon and evening over Northern areas. To the South a mix is likely. The mix will go over to snow by late day of Southern areas. The Potential Accumulations of 4-8 inches is expected for Northern areas with lighter amounts to the South. The precipitation will taper off between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Blowing snow is expected overnight.

An Arctic blast will greet us for the beginning and middle portion of the week.

SUNDAY: Snow and a mix developing by midday or early afternoon. High: 39. Temperatures will fall throughout the afternoon.

TONIGHT: Snow. Heavy at times in the evening. Tapering off toward midnight. Blowing snow. Low: 19.

MONDAY: Sunny. Much colder. High: 25.

TUESDAY: Sunny. Frigid. High: 19.

WEDNESDAY: Sunny. Frigid. High: 20.

THURSDAY: Partly sunny. High: 27.

FRIDAY: Partly sunny. 32.
