Philadelphia Eagles great LeSean McCoy and Los Angeles Rams legend Aaron Donald are putting their money where their mouths are.
McCoy and Donald, both Pennsylvania natives and former University of Pittsburgh stars, have a friendly, big money wager going on the result of Sunday’s NFC Divisional Round playoff game between the Rams and Eagles.
The retired stars with a combined 10 All-Pro and 16 Pro Bowl selections put $50,000 on the line against one another with the Harrisburg native taking the cash if the Eagles win, while Donald, from Pittsburgh, wins the bet if LA gets the ‘W’.
McCoy revealed the wager in a FaceTime video posted to X and Instagram on Sunday afternoon.
“Are we going to make the bet we’ve been talking about all week or not?” McCoy said.
“Let’s bet it,” Donald responds.
McCoy says he’s laying $50,000 on the Eagles and awaits Donald’s reply.
“We’ll do it. I have to match it. Let’s go,” Donald said. “I’m tired of hearing (you) on TV sleeping on the Rams. I’m tired of hearing all that, man.”
McCoy currently features on FS1 on the morning show, The Facility.
McCoy, 36, is a former Bishop McDevitt star who went on to be a standout running back at Pitt. After college, the Philadelphia Eagles drafted him in the second round of the 2009 draft. He would go on to star for Philly and the Buffalo Bills, among others, rushing for over 10,000 yards in his career, earning selection to the All-Decade Team and making six Pro Bowls.
Donald, 33, is a 10-time All-Pro and one-time Super Bowl champion, leading L.A. to the Super Bowl LVI title in 2022. He is a Penn Hills graduate who went on to win NFL Defensive Player of the year a record three times.
Donald retired on March 15, 2024 at just 32 years old.
“Bet’s on the line. Let the better team win,” McCoy said to conclude the video. “And after we win, I’m taking you and E (wife Erica) to dinner.”
