“Duck Dynasty” is returning to A&E, eight years after the series finale.
The Duck Commander crew returns with “Duck Dynasty: The Revival.”
TVLine.com reports that A&E has signed on for two seasons and 20 episodes. According to the report, the new series is set to begin this summer and will feature Willie and Korie Robertson, their children and grandchildren, in Louisiana.
“Going back on A&E feels a little like going back home,” Willie and Korie said in a statement per PEOPLE. “We’re thankful for all who have followed along as our family has grown and expanded and can’t wait to get cameras rolling again on all our new adventures, or perhaps misadventures.”
“Duck Dynasty,” which debuted in 2012 on A&E, ran for 11 seasons before it was cancelled in 2017.
According to TVLine, “With their dynasty expanding into more than just ducks, Willie and Korie will bring their signature humor and family fun as they grapple with mapping out the future of Duck Commander. Watching the kids navigate marriage, children and businesses of their own, and passing down the family legacy.”
The news comes after John Godwin, a decoy technician and duck call builder for the famous “Duck Dynasty” team, announced his retirement on a Jan. 9 episode of the group’s podcast “Duck Call Room.”
Last month, Phil Robertson, the star of “Duck Dynasty,” it was revealed he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
“Phil’s not doing well,” Phil’s son Jase Robertson said during Friday’s episode of “Unashamed with the Robertson Family” podcast. “I think I spoke on the 1000th podcast, we were trying to figure out the diagnosis, but according to the doctors, he has some sort of blood disease causing all kinds of problems.
“It’s like accelerated, and it’s causing problems with his entire body. And he has early stages of Alzheimers. So, if you put those things together, he’s really not doing well. He’s struggling.”
