The stove has finally heated up in Atlanta.

After a relatively quiet start to the offseason, the Braves agreed to a three-year, $42 million deal with outfielder Jurickson Profar.

He will make $12 million in 2025 and $15 million in each of the following two seasons.

Profar, one of baseball’s top prospects when he was called up to the majors with the Rangers in 2012, had fits and starts throughout his big league career but came into his own in 2024 with the Padres.

He collected career-bests in home runs (24) OPS (.839) and RBIs (85) in what was his first season as an All-Star.

His 4.3 WAR, according to Fangraphs, also represented the high watermark of his career.

Profar, 31, has had the ability to play both the infield and outfield, but last year he played the entirety of the year in left, save for two games at first base.

If he does indeed slot into left field, he’ll be joining an outfield with Michael Harris in center and 2023 National League MVP Ronald Acuna Jr., once he is good to return from the ACL tear he suffered last May.
