The Illinois Fighting Illini men’s basketball team will be without starting center Tomislav Ivisic vs. the Maryland Terrapins on Thursday night for their Big Ten Conference showdown.
Ivisic was listed as “out” for Illinois on the Big Ten availability report released Thursday evening. This will be the first game Ivisic has missed this season for the Illini.

Illinois also listed starting forward Tre White and reserve guard Will Riley as “questionable” on the availability report for Thursday’s game. The Illinois radio broadcast said Ivisic, White, and Riley are all dealing with an illness.
The Maryland Terps and Illinois Fighting Illini men’s basketball game is scheduled to start at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT.

The availability report did not disclose why Ivisic will be “out” vs. Maryland, but Illinois head coach Brad Underwood said Sunday that Ivisic played through strep throat in Illinois’ 80-78 loss to Michigan State.

“Tommy feels awful, and I mean awful,” Underwood said Sunday of Ivisic. “It was just a guttin’ it out tough job for him with strep throat. He’s been on antibiotic for three days. He’s just feeling disgusting.”
Ivisic played 28 minutes with 13 points, five assists, and four rebounds vs. Michigan State on Sunday.
“He was dead,” Underwood said of Ivisic on Sunday when talking about limiting his minutes against Michigan State. “He couldn’t breathe. His tonsils look like a — they’re gross — and so he couldn’t breathe. He woke up this morning and was like, ‘I can’t breathe.'”

Illinois, ranked No. 17 in The Associated Press poll, enters the matchup 13-5 overall and 5-3 in the Big Ten. The Maryland Terps come into the contest 14-5 overall and 4-4 in the Big Ten. Kevin Willard is the Maryland Terps men’s basketball head coach.
