Foden hails bond with De Bruyne and Doku

Pep Guardiola‘s men raced into a three-goal lead at the break, with all three goals materialising from the left side of attack, with Doku finding De Bruyne to assist Foden twice and Mateo Kovacic scoring from Foden’s pass.

After the break, De Bruyne set up Doku for our fourth, before Doku turned provider for Erling Haaland to slot in our fifth. James McAtee then headed in the final goal of a scintillating attacking display at Portman Road.

De Bruyne also set up Foden to score last Tuesday night away to Brentford and the Englishman revealed the trio have been working hard on their relationship in training.

“I’ve built a really good connection with Jez and Kev,” said Foden after the game.

“I always arrive in the box late and they always manage to find me in the space. It’s something we’ve worked on in training and it just becomes natural now in the game.

“I’m obviously delighted for myself as well to get on the scoresheet again. It’s really good for my confidence.

“And also for the team to score six away from home, hopefully we can just build on this now and keep the momentum and keep the winning ways.”
