Frasier has left the building.
Paramount+ has opted against a third season of the reboot sitcom Frasier. Debuting on October 12, 2023, this new incarnation of Frasier followed Kelsey Grammer as psychiatrist Frasier Crane, who we originally met on Cheers in 1984, as he returned to Boston in the hope of having a better relationship with his son, Frederick (Jack Cutmore-Scott), now a Boston firefighter. He takes a professorship at Harvard University, and moves into Freddy’s apartment building as he embarks on his “third act.”
A total of 20 episodes of Frasier were produced for Paramount+. But producer CBS Studios remains committed to the series and plans to shop it to other outlets.
The second season of Frasier debuted on Paramount+ in September, with Patricia Heaton joining the cast as Holly, a new love interest for Frasier. Peri Gilpin, who reprised her role as Roz Doyle, was upgraded from guest star in season one to recurring in season two. And Frasier returned to Seattle in one episode, with cameos from original Frasier cast members Dan Butler (Bulldog) and Edward Hibbert (Gil Chesterton).
Also guest-starring was Bebe Neuwirth, reprising the role of Frasier’s ex-wife Lilith, who also first appeared on Cheers.
The Frasier reboot also featured Nicholas Lyndhurst as Alan, Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor; Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, Alan’s colleague and head of the university’s psychology department; Jess Salgueiro as Eve, Frasier and Freddy’s neighbor; and Anders Keith as Frasier’s nephew, David.

Combined with Cheers and now the two versions of Frasier, and Kelsey Grammer played the role in 484 episodes.
