It was one-way traffic for Swiatek from start to finish Thursday, though that traffic slowed down mid-match—after the Pole won the first seven games in a row for a 6-0, 1-0 lead, Sramkova held her next two service games, and the two were locked at 2-all second set.

Swiatek went on another run from there, though, winning the last four games in a row to close the match out after exactly an hour.

The world No. 2 didn’t face a single break point in seven service games, nor was she even pushed to deuce in any of them, and she converted five of her six break point opportunities in the match.

Awaiting the former No. 1 in the third round will be 2021 US Open champion and former No. 10 Emma Raducanu, who dispatched Amanda Anisimova in her second-round match, 6-3, 7-5.

“It’s going to be a tough one,” Swiatek said about her upcoming clash with the Brit, whom she’s 3-0 against in their head-to-head.

“Emma can play great tennis. We all know that. So yeah, I’ll prepare as before any other match. For sure Wim [Fissette] will watch these matches that we played, because I don’t know if he saw them before, since we weren’t working together yet. But yeah, I’ll just, I don’t know.

“I’ll prepare tomorrow, and I’ll be ready.”
