Jaden Smith Mercilessly Trolled for Wearing House on His Head at Grammys

When they say celebrities should have a head for fashion, this is not what they mean.

Jaden Smith, the son of Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith, turned heads when he walked the red carpet ahead of 2025’s Grammy Awards—even if he could barely turn his own.

The younger Smith arrived with a diorama of a castle enveloping his head, with his face poking out of a circular hole. The headpiece was created by designer ABODI, which is apparently called “Vampire Castle.” (Vanity Fair pointed me to ADOBI’s site, which lists the so-called “wearable” piece for €4,500, which amounts to roughly $4,602.80. A bargain!)

On its Instagram account, the brand wrote, “The artistic headpiece combines the mysterious elegance of ABODI Transylvania with a bold, modern design inspired by Transylvanian history and the vampire legends of the Bathori.”

Smith styled the custom house-hat with a Louis Vuitton suit.

Of course, high fashion is in the eye of the beholder who decided to wear a freaking castle over his head to a major entertainment industry award show. Evidently William Dafoe wore a similar…adornment? for his recent GQ Man of the Year shoot.

Public opinion, however, screamed “bafflement,” as one might expect given that the man is wearing a house on his head.

The jokes were swift.

“Jaden Smith is in the house,” one user posted on X. (Get it?) “Why he look like he just got neutered” another posted, referencing the cones of shame that dogs wear after surgery to keep them from licking their wounds.

Another humorous post imagined the conversation Smith had with his mother as he was heading out the door to the ceremony:

As for any fashion criticism outside of jokes, let’s just say the overwhelming majority of reaction was expletive-ridden versions of WTF that we can’t really post here.
