Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) brings us UFC 311 TONIGHT (Sat., Jan. 18, 2025), streaming LIVE on ESPN+ PPV from inside the newly-opened Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. UFC 311’s pay-per-view (PPV) main event was supposed to be a rematch for the Lightweight title, pitting dominant champion, Islam Makhachev, against Arman Tsarukyan. These two fought back in 2019 with Makhachev earning a hard fought decision over Tsarukyan. However, Tsarukyan pulled out of the fight, due to injury, on Friday. That means Renato Moicano — who was already scheduled to face Beneil Dariush — has been drafted into an explosive 155-pound title fight.
And he’s ready to, “shock the world!”
UFC 311 PPV’s co-main event is a Bantamweight title fight. Division champion, Merab Dvalishvili, will seek to defend his belt for the first time against No. 1-seeded contender, Umar Nurmagomedov. Despite some airline issues, both Nurmagomedov and Makhachev will have former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in their corners in LA County.
The main card also features a match-up of former Light Heavyweight champions (and Alex Pereira victims) with Jiri Prochazka meeting Jamahal Hill. The stacked PPV card also has Jailton Almeida vs. Serghei Spivac and Kevin Holland vs. Reinier de Ridder.
UFC 311’s “Prelims” are pretty good, too. Those are headlined by top prospect Payton Talbott. He’s fighting Raoni Barcelos. Also on the “Prelims” are Grant Dawson vs. Diego Ferreira and Zachary Reese vs. Azamat Bekoev.
