Hold on a minute!
The Rams are making this interesting. Los Angeles just drove down the field for a very quick touchdown, going 69 yards in 10 plays while taking only a minute and 48 seconds off the clock.
It’s a 28-22 Eagles lead. There’s 2:48 left, and the Rams have all three of their timeouts.
That’s the dagger! Wow!
On the Eagles’ first play from scrimmage following a Rams punt, Saquon Barkley made another house call, this one from 78 yards out. Running in the snow, Barkley just iced the game.
Jake Elliott missed another extra point, so the Philly lead is 28-15.
Well, at least they didn’t fumble?
The Rams offense can’t get anything going in the snow. They just punted after three plays, picking up 0 yards.

Great, great game so far that’s setting up to be an exciting finish.

Los Angeles has six sacks today, and it seems to be taking a toll on Jalen Hurts. He could barely move on the Eagles’ last drive, and he had his knee checked out after an earlier sack. Can Hurts make it through the end of this game?
The Rams’ defensive line is wrecking this game.
Los Angeles just picked up its sixth — SIXTH! — sack of the game, and this time it got the team two points. Neville Gallimore and Keir Thomas met Jalen Hurts in the end zone for a safety.

Jared Verse had some harsh words for Eagles fans during the week, and now he’s hurting them with his play.

The Rams kicked off and Eagles have the ball first, starting from their own 26-yard line.
I picked the Rams to upset the Vikings in this space last week, and even still I’m marveling at the performance they had in the wild-card round. Los Angeles flat-out dominated on both sides of the ball.
Watching the Rams’ defensive line against the Eagles’ offensive line is the matchup of the divisional round for me. Los Angeles wasn’t particularly elite during the season in terms of pass-rush win rate, and yet its defensive line mounted pressure on Sam Darnold even when rushing only four.
If the Rams can get ahead early and make Jalen Hurts uncomfortable in the pocket, that game becomes a lot more interesting.
Rams coach Sean McVay heaped massive praise on his team last week after an upset victory over Minnesota Vikings last week. “I thought with everything that’s going on with our community, everything that these guys have gone through, I thought they epitomized and represented the city the right way.”
McVay added, “You talk about sports offering a platform for people to come together for a little bit of temporary relief, and I thought the way that our team competed tonight was what it looked like — to stay connected, to stay together. Just to fight, the resilience, all the things that are great traits that this team has really built throughout the challenges that they’ve gone through over the course of this season. And I’m really proud of them.”
Chris Simms and Mike Florio explain why it will be “imperative” for the Los Angeles Rams to get off to a strong start against a ferocious Philadelphia Eagles defense in the Divisional Round.
By the eye test and statistics, the Rams’ defense profiled as one that might struggle. And the team was playing only days after wildfires devastated Los Angeles, not far from where the team practices. Instead, their pressure and focus absolutely wrecked Minnesota. Dismiss coach Sean McVay’s playoff chances at your own peril.
Five of Saquon Barkley’s 13 rushing touchdowns (and four of his last six) were 30+ yards. In the Week 12 win at the Rams, he scored two touchdowns of 70+ yards. He also showed his abilities to make highlight-reel plays, making one of the plays of the year in the Week 9 win vs. JAX when he spun past one defender before pulling off a backwards hurdle over another.
Rams QB Matthew Stafford has the Rams back in the playoffs for the third time in four seasons with L.A. (the only year he failed to reach the playoffs was in the 2022 season, when he played just 9 games due to a concussion and a spinal cord contusion).

He became just the ninth player to rush for 2,000+ yards in a season, with his 2,005 rushing yards ranking eighth all-time (see chart). Barkley was named First-Team All-Pro for the first time of his career this season.
Eagles QB Jalen Hurts suffered a concussion in the first quarter of Philadelphia’s Week 16 loss at Washington and missed the final two games of the regular season (PHI won both games Hurts missed, with Kenny Pickett starting Week 17 vs. Dallas and Tanner McKee starting Week 18 vs. the Giants with Pickett out with injured ribs).
Hurts returned to practice on the Wednesday before Philadelphia’s Wild Card game vs. Green Bay and cleared concussion protocol Friday before the game.
In his first game in three weeks, Hurts was 13-for-21 (61.9%) passing for 131 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in the win vs. Green Bay.
