Marvel Comics Announces “Fantastic Four Fanfare” Four-Issue Limited Series Launching This Spring from Iconic Creators

Marvel’s First Family will be seeing a lot of action this year, both on the big screen and on the comics page.

With Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated feature film The Fantastic Four: First Steps clobbering its way into theaters this summer, Marvel Comics is bringing things back to the place it all began with new stories from some of the team’s most accomplished writers and artists this spring in the new limited series Fantastic Four Fanfare.

What’s happening:

  • A new four-issue limited series entitled Fantastic Four Fanfare will be launching on May 7th from Marvel Comics. Each issue will spotlight a different member of the iconic team, which is made up of Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Susan Storm Richards (The Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (The Thing).
  • This title will be set “across Fantastic Four history” and will bring together acclaimed comic-book talents, many of whom have previously contributed to Marvel’s First Family, including Mark Waid, Ramon Rosanas, Alan Davis, Andrew Wheeler, and Sara Pichelli for the first issue. Subsequent issues will feature work by Jonathan Hickman, Dan Slott, J. Michael Straczynski, Chip Zdarsky, Mike Allred, and Mark Bagley.
  • The Fantastic Four was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, with the original comic book having launched in 1961. The team has starred in four previous movies, and will be making its Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, coming to theaters on July 25th.
