RIGHT NOW. SEAN. YEAH, QUITE A SCENE HERE THIS AFTERNOON. FEDERAL AGENTS SWARMED THIS MARKET BASKET PARKING LOT. THEY HAD SOMEBODY IN CUSTODY. AND THIS ACTIVITY IS GETTING A LOT OF ATTENTION FROM NEIGHBORS. FEDERAL AGENTS TAKING THIS MAN INTO CUSTODY OUTSIDE THIS BUSY CHELSEA MARKET BASKET, HANDCUFFING HIM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY. RIGHT HERE. A SIMILAR SCENE IN EAST BOSTON, SPARKING MIXED REACTIONS. IF SOMEONE DOES WRONG, YOU KNOW THEY’RE GOING TO FACE THE CONSEQUENCES. IF THIS IS SOMETHING THAT’S TARGETED TOWARDS IMMIGRANTS. FRANKLY, IT DOESN’T MAKE ME FEEL SAFER. PRESIDENT TRUMP SAID ICE RAIDS WOULD HAPPEN SOON. THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION NOW ALLOWING ICE TO RAID PLACES OF WORSHIP, SCHOOLS AND HOSPITALS. THE MASSACHUSETTS HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION SAYING ANYONE WHO WALKS THROUGH THE DOOR OF ONE OF OUR HOSPITALS SEEKING CARE IS A PATIENT AND WILL BE TREATED ACCORDINGLY. THESE ARE OUR SACRED SPACES IN OUR SOCIETY, AND TO NOW MAKE THOSE OPEN FOR PEOPLE’S FAMILIES TO BE RIPPED APART IS JUST A VIOLATION OF HUMAN DIGNITY. FAITH LEADERS REACTING TO THE POLICY CHANGE, I THINK IT IS THE WRONG STEP. IF YOU CAN’T FIND A PLACE OF REFUGE, THAT PEACE OF MIND, THEN WHERE CAN YOU GO? BROCKTON AND WORCESTER SAYING SCHOOLS REMAIN A SAFE HAVEN. BROCKTON SUPERINTENDENT SAYING SCHOOLS HAVE BEEN DIRECTED NOT TO ALLOW ACCESS TO IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES. ANY REQUESTS FOR ACCESS TO SCHOOLS WILL BE VETTED BY THE SUPERINTENDENT’S OFFICE IN CONSULTATION WITH LEGAL COUNSEL. FEDERAL OFFICIALS MAY ALSO NOW TARGET LOCAL AND STATE OFFICIALS THAT GET IN THE WAY OF IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT. THE GOVERNOR SAYING NOT TO WORRY. THEY HAVE NO REASON TO BE CONCERNED. OFFICIALS HERE FOLLOW THE LAW. WE’RE NOT A SANCTUARY STATE. WE ASKED ICE ABOUT ANY ENFORCEMENT ACTIVITIES TODAY. WE’RE STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE.
