It was a rough weekend for the Mahomes family.
Not only did Patrick Mahomes play one of his worst games of his entire career in Super Bowl LIX, but his father also found himself in the news.

And it wasn’t exactly a positive moment.
A video has surfaced of Patrick Mahomes Sr. and former controversial MLB player John Rocker getting into a heated confrontation on Bourbon Street.
It was unclear what exactly was said between the two former Major Leaguers, but it didn’t look friendly.
A bystander had to step in between the two to separate the men from what was close to turning into a physical altercation.
Fortunately, it was only verbal jabs.
Albeit extremely heated verbal jabs.
It didn’t stop there, as the two then spilled it over onto the Internet.
“This f***** loser can’t take a damn joke,” Rocker wrote on X.
“Wish I laid him out right there and ruined his bull*** weekend even more.”
Mahomes Sr. responded by saying, “You really haven’t changed one bit in the last 25 years. Keep my name out your loud mouth.”

It was also unclear when the video was taken.
It could have been before or after the Chiefs’ humiliating loss at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles.
If the exchange happened after the big game, it’s easy to see why Mahomes Sr. may not have been in the best of moods.
He just witnessed his son get pummeled for 60 minutes straight in a historic beatdown.
If the incident occurred before the game, who knows what the father was so angry at.
Mahomes Sr. has found himself in the headlines recently before, and unfortunately for nothing good.
He has been arrested multiple times for driving while intoxicated, most recently in February of 2024, before Super Bowl LVIII.
Mahomes Sr. and Rocker have no history of bad blood, so it’s unsure what the two were so upset about, but based off their posts on X, it’s clear the two were never fond of one another.
They both played professional baseball and were on multiple teams over the course of their careers, but never as teammates.
Mahomes Sr. played from 1992-2003 and Rocker from 1998-2003.
