Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

At the end of the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s launch presentation, Samsung teased their rumored Galaxy S25 “slim.” To everyone’s surprise, the company is bringing an iconic branding back from the dead instead of using the Slim moniker. The upcoming slim Samsung phone, which is slated to compete with Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 Air will be called Galaxy S25 Edge.
It was part of the demo at the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose. While Samsung didn’t reveal any details about the device, it is rumored to be as slim as 6.4mm, which is around 2mm slimmer than the current big-screen flagships. I got the first look at the Galaxy S25 Edge and here’s how it looks from the side –

For comparison, the latest Galaxy S25 is 7.2mm thick. Notably, these measurements don’t account for the camera module bulge. I couldn’t get hands-on time or photos with the device so it’s hard to tell the exact thickness of the phone but here’s the device next to block forms about the size of conventional smartphones.
Samsung didn’t confirm any specs regarding the screen size and type, processor, battery capacity, or other details. However, we know for sure that the Galaxy S25 Edge sports a dual rear camera setup, as per the current design.

On the front, there’s a punch-hole selfie camera in a display that features minimal bezels. However, being untrue to the Edge brand (rip Galaxy S7 Edge), the Galaxy S25 Edge sports a flat display. There’s no curve on the side of the screens, which used to make the Edge series stand out.
The phone nerd in me was excited about the revival of the Edge series when I saw the name pop up on the demo. But I was surprised (and a little disappointed) that Samsung isn’t using the “Alpha” branding for its upcoming slim phone.

I tried getting as close as possible but the Galaxy S25 Edge demo area was swamped with hundreds of people. Here are a few more images of the upcoming device.
