In a 2022 NBA Finals rematch, the Boston Celtics got their revenge, blowing out the Golden State Warriors 125-85 at Chase Center in San Francisco, much to the disappointment of the home crowd.
The Warriors were without Draymond Green, who was sidelined with a calf injury sustained during Sunday’s 122-114 win over the Washington Wizards.
The loss ranks as one of the worst in Warriors’ history and one of the most lopsided defeats during Steve Kerr’s tenure as head coach:

The Warriors lost 125-85 to Boston. The 40-point loss is their largest home loss under Steve Kerr. Worst home loss for the Warriors since 1985 vs Dallas. The 85 points is the fewest in a home game in which Stephen Curry plays since Kerr became head coach per @ESPNStatsInfo
Stephen Curry finished with 18 points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals while shooting 4-of-12 from beyond the three-point line in the loss. Moses Moody contributed 13 points, six rebounds and five assists off the bench.
Following the loss, Steve Kerr told reporters, “We got to flush this one down the toilet and get ready for Sac,” adding that the Warriors’ few blowout losses this season have been “demoralizing.”
On the other side of the court, Jayson Tatum’s 22 points, nine rebounds and seven assists while shooting 9-of-20, the Celtics improved to 30-13 on the season, while the Warriors dropped to 21-21, snapping their two-game win streak.
Jaylen Brown contributed 17 points, four rebounds and two assists, while Kristaps Porzingis added 18 points and seven rebounds to the victory.
Following the Warriors’ blowout loss on Monday, fans voiced their disappointment and growing concerns about the future of the dynasty.

It actually hurts watching the Warriors play offense. Steph is quite literally playing 1v5.

The second half quickly slipped away from Golden State as the Celtics extended their lead to 97-63 by the end of the third quarter, fueled by another 10 points from Tatum.
