Volunteers gather at River Park North for MLK Day of Service in Greenville
As Martin Luther King Jr. Day is being celebrated all across Eastern Carolina, Greenville’s River Park North is holding a day of Service.
At the park on Mumford Road, people volunteer to help clean the park. Whether it’s picking up trash, picking weeds, or raking, a number of people came to do their part.
For Efosa Iyore and Rosie Baker, this holiday has a special meaning.
We’re serving today in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr’s day of service and we’re just here to help contribute and clean up the park…Two years ago, on this day, at this clean up the park event…was our first date.
The event went on from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. this morning.
Efosa and Rosie spend every anniversary at this event, honoring Martin Luther King Jr.
