Wake County to close facilities due to winter weather impacts

Winter weather conditions, including below-freezing temperatures and possible snow, are predicted to impact the county tonight. Wake County has adjusted the operating hours of its facilities out of an abundance of caution for the public and its employees.

The County is closing its facilities at 4 p.m. today and will delay opening until noon tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 22.

The only exception is the Wake County Animal Center. It will close to the public today at 3 p.m. to enable staff to complete their tasks and get home before the winter weather begins. The Animal Center will open to the public at 1 p.m. tomorrow.

These schedule changes do not include essential personnel, such as law enforcement, EMS and other first responders who work around the clock to protect the public.

A full list of impacted facilities and their hours can be found below. Updates can also be found at wake.gov/weather.
