What to expect

The National Weather Service is warning that roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. This will make travel very difficult.

Pockets of light snow and freezing drizzle will be around Saturday evening, which could lead to some localized slick spots on the roads. The main batch of heavier, widespread snow will arrive after midnight Saturday night into Sunday morning.

What to do

If possible, do not travel.

If you must travel, the NWS warns people to drive with “extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility.”

Drivers should leave plenty of room between them and the driver ahead of them. Make sure to allow extra time to get where you’re going.

Do not suddenly brake or suddenly accelerate and be extremely cautious on hills or when making turns.
