The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the Chicago area from 9 a.m. Wednesday until 3 a.m. Thursday, according to officials. Chicagoans can expect to see 3 to 6 inches of snowfall Wednesday, which is less than what was initially forecast earlier in the week.
While there may be light dustings of snow Wednesday morning, the main brunt of the snowfall is expected to hit sometime in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The weather is also likely to impact Wednesday’s afternoon and evening commute for Chicagoans, as well as the Thursday morning commute, according to the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Communications.
“It’s going to be kind of nasty during the afternoon tomorrow,” Kevin Donofrio, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said.
